What it is.
bilalhashimi.ca is my personal site. It’s one page: my name, a short line, a button to email me and a button to book a call.
It’s here because you can check it. It isn’t a client project.
What was built.
A video that follows the scroll.
Behind the name, a short driving clip plays forward as you scroll down and rewinds as you scroll up. After a few seconds of footage it holds still and the page carries on.
A lighter version for phones.
On phones the same clip is shown as a run of still frames, so the effect doesn’t wait for a video file to load.
Image rails, with a pause button.
Two rails of pictures drift past the portrait. A pause button stops the motion for anyone who’d rather it stayed still.
Light and dark themes.
A switch in the top corner changes the whole page between light and dark.
Scroll down and the car comes closer.
Two screenshots of the live site. The driving clip behind the name was generated with AI for the site.

At the top of the page.

After a short scroll.
More work.
